A lot happened this year, full of ups and downs.
But if there’s one thing I’m truly grateful for, it’s the knowledge I’ve gained.

Earlier this year, I joined a book club, and a friend challenged me to read 40 books. I accepted the challenge — and I’m working steadily toward it. From all the books I’ve read so far (mostly on productivity), these three stand out the most:

📘 The One Thing
📗 Eat That Frog
📙 Show Your Work by Austin Kleon

I’d love to share one powerful lesson from Show Your Work.

We’ve all heard the phrase:

“Life is all about who you know.”

While that’s fairly true, this book opened my eyes to a deeper reality.

Yes — life is about who you know.
But who you know is determined by who you are.
And who you are is shaped by what you know, the quality of your work, and most importantly, your character.

So instead of chasing connections, focus on building yourself — your skills, your discipline, and your integrity. When you grow into the person you’re meant to be, the right people and opportunities will naturally be drawn to you.

Because truthfully, even if you manage to connect with “successful people” but have nothing valuable to offer, you risk becoming a burden — and eventually getting cut off.

The lesson here:
Build yourself. Show your work. Prove your competence.
And soon, the people you’re seeking will start seeking you.

I’ll share another lesson tomorrow.
